1. Overview & Creator Guarantee

Thumbnail Labs ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website at https://thumbnaillabs.com. We believe creators should feel 100% confident testing unreleased video concepts without fearing their thumbnails will be scraped, stored, or leaked.

Our architecture is designed around zero server persistence for your media: thumbnail images uploaded for preview and testing are processed locally within your browser and are not uploaded to permanent storage on our servers.

2. Client-Side Image Analysis

When you drag, drop, or select an image file to test in Thumbnail Labs:

  • Your image is loaded into your browser's memory via HTML5 Canvas and Blob APIs.
  • Contrast measurement, color saturation extraction, and facial bounding box calculations are computed on your local device.
  • Diagnostic filter simulations (squint blur, grayscale, protanopia) are applied entirely via browser CSS and SVG filters.
  • Your image bytes are never saved to a database, trained on by proprietary models, or shared with third parties.

When you close or refresh your browser tab, uploaded temporary image objects in memory are discarded.

3. Information We Collect

We do not require user accounts, passwords, or payment credentials. We collect limited, privacy-respecting technical usage data:

  • Anonymous Web Analytics: Page views, session duration, device type, and referring sources to monitor infrastructure health and popularity of features.
  • Local Storage Preferences: Non-sensitive settings such as UI theme (dark/light mode), active preview scenario, and temporary draft comparison slots saved locally in your own browser's localStorage.

4. Third-Party Integrations & Public YouTube Data

To provide realistic feed simulations, Thumbnail Labs queries public YouTube video titles, channel names, and public thumbnail URLs via standard YouTube APIs. By using our service, you agree to YouTube's Terms of Service and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy.

We may include affiliate partner links (e.g. vidIQ) to creator software tools. Clicking these external links takes you to third-party domains with their own respective privacy policies.

5. Contact Regarding Privacy
